I just finished the complete story of Anna’s life. If Anna was hurt when Devin hurt Alex the first time, how did they not figure out sooner that Alex couldnt be dead? I also was wondering, exactly how did Anna become a slave? I understand her status as an elder-mistress, but the slavery part has me confused. Was she a slave before the bonding ceremony or is that when it became official? From the ages of 16-20 was she only being trained as a slave until the ceremony? This was the most shocking, heart-wrenching, amazing story I have read...and I read ALL the time. I love that you felt free to delve into such darkness and bring so much light and love into the story. I’m still amazed Anna didn’t completely lose her mind with all she suffered through. Keep writing, I want to but I’m afraid to go where my brain would take me in a story but reading yours gives me encouragment. Thank you!!

Hi Marissa,
I love Anna's story, it aroused in me a lot of emotions, from anger, irritation, to sympathy. But I can not accept, that Alex, the assassin of the Brotherhood, is such a loser. He lets Devin outwit him like a child! And Anna is so naive. I cannot understand, why she didn't believe, that dreams about Alex were real, after all she had such a good intuition and was able to read people. What about their strengthened bond after getting married?
I wondered about Alex's death, why Anna did not feel it. You explained that the transfer of pain only worked between three of them: Devin, Anna and Alex. For Anna to feel pain, Devin would have to hurt Alex and vice versa. Why then did Anna get ill when Alex was ill?
And why did not anyone tell Annie about her power? Maybe she could free herself from Devin, at least she would not let him hurt her. Maybe she would learn to control it and use it accordingly. The idea of marriage was not the best idea, it did not help. Devin still had power over Anna and he could use her. So why all these treatments?
The deleted scenes are very interesting, but Anna's age seems to be incorrect there. In the book, she started training at the age of 16, not 12, and after a year of training she tried to commit suicide - she was 17 and not 14. Is my thinking correct? Was this you primal idea to start training Anna so early?
Thank you in advance for all the explanations, this book really's brainwashed me. Thank you for amazing series!
Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your kind words. Don't be afraid to write. It's amazing how many people are out there with twisted minds like ours .:)
Anna is only affected by Devin and/or Alex's pain if the other does it. So, when Alex squeezed Devin's arm, the reason Anna felt it was because Alex was doing it. If Alex got into a car accident, Anna wouldn't be affected because Devin wasn't the one causing it. Does that make sense?
Anna became a slave at the bonding ceremony at the end of Book One. You are correct that she was being trained as a slave up until that point. But she didn't become a slave until the ceremony. That ceremony is forbidden precisely because it turns the half-Immortals into slaves and that's unacceptable in this modern age.
Hope that answers your questions. If it doesn't, ask again :)
