Conversation at Dinner
From:
Enslaved
Author's note: Anna was originally 18 at the beginning of the book. I couldn't make this conversation work with her age changed to 20, but I still enjoy reading it. Jack was also originally Anna's uncle, but I felt there were enough Taboo subjects in the book without adding incest.
Dinner arrived and everyone concentrated on eating. I had ordered salmon. It practically melted in my mouth and I moaned softly in pleasure.
“Like it?” Kurt asked. “You look post-orgasmic.”
“I’ve only had salmon once before and it was good. But this is heavenly.” I took another bite. “I’ve never had such good food.”
“Don’t get out much Anna?” Kirsty asked.
I jumped at her question. “No.” I felt stupid. I was surrounded my sophisticated people. I am not sophisticated.
“What do you do, Anna?” she asked.
“Um.” I’m a sex slave. “I just graduated high school.”
“Where did you graduate from? I went to St. Martin’s.” She almost smirked.
“I went to St. Martin’s through sixth grade and then transferred to El Salvador.” I spoke softly, trying not to upset her.
She raised her eyebrows. “Why the change?”
I began taking sex lessons and my uncle didn’t want to drive me across town anymore. “It was closer to my Uncle’s house.”
She nodded. “So are you going to go to college?”
Nope, I’m a sex slave. I don’t need a degree for that. “No.” What else could I say?
“What do you want to do?”
Not be a sex slave. I shrugged. “I don’t know.”
She frowned at me. “Not very ambitious, are you?”
I looked down at my hands. I was sure I was embarrassing Kurt and Wilhelm with my stupid answers.
Wilhelm directed the conversation to other subjects and I finished my dinner in silence. I couldn’t make it ten minutes without looking foolish.
Kurt leaned over and nibbled on my ear. “Don’t worry about her, Engel. She is a Miststück…a bitch. I don’t see what Alex sees in her…except in bed. And even there I’m not convinced.”
